I will not be sad
(For Sam on his 20th birthday)
Foucault: “Do not think that one has to be sad in order to be militant.”
Listen with glee
And pursue the nomadic
Disprefer the sedentary
Calculate careful abandon
Even as you sit sweetly
By the well worn hearth
Mix your outrage with laughter
The ultimate Molotov cocktail
Ask for recycled paper ballots
Insist on a compost pile
As your dustbin of history
Refuse to accept the designation
Of universal healthcare as an oxymoron
If they make a movie
Of the Battle in Seattle
Make mayhem at the screening
Dance in the aisles
Buy a ticket for a stranger.

I think that this poet has some serious talent, and would be very interested in seeing more of his material on greenchange. I thoroughly enjoy reading online literature and poetry, and I was struck with how creative Brian Lynch is. I hope that more of his writings will be posted so that we can all enjoy this brilliant artist.
